Digging Out a Hillside With a Compact Tractor

Overview

This is a real-world jobsite video, not a spec review: Brock uses his John Deere 2038R's backhoe and loader to cut back a steep hillside above a building, working around a buried French drain line. He tests loading dirt directly into a dump trailer versus grubbing loose with the backhoe then scooping with the bucket, showing the backhoe's limited reach firsthand. Good for owners curious how a compact tractor backhoe handles real earthmoving and its practical limits.

Posted by the Rockhill Farm channel, an owner-operator documenting hands-on daily work and experimentation with his own equipment.
