Overview

This is a real-time DIY repair on a JD 5055 that started chugging and blowing white smoke: the owner drains a plugged fuel tank, locates the hidden in-tank screen strainer behind the petcock, shows the sediment clogging it, cleans it with brake cleaner, refills with filtered fuel, jump-starts a dead battery, and test-runs it with a brush hog. Good for owners troubleshooting similar power-loss or rough-idle symptoms.

Posted by an owner-operator (Trent, of Rustic SoDak Farm) documenting a hands-on fix on his own tractor, not a dealer or technician.
